Below
is an example of a completed worksheet completed by a P7 pupil. This
is one of a series of worksheets included with the Discovering Poetry
Project which all feature an item or creature from the natural environment.
In this case, the pupil has chosen a worksheet featuring an owl. The
worksheets are single colour for ease of printing out and for colouring
in purposes. Worksheet 1 on the left assists the child in the creative
writing process by guiding them through a series of questions based
on stimulating the 5 major senses of sight, touch, taste, smell, sight
and sound. The objective is to use this process to generate idea's suitable
for use in a poem. It is important to accompany this with some real
life objects such as bird hair etc. Worksheet 2 on the right features
the final written poem and displays one of the habitats which can be
coloured in for display purposes. Some of the worksheets are available
for download at the foot of this page. |
